Advisor Video Library Instructions

Interface

1) Sets how many videos appear on screen at once. Default is 50.

2) Shows the name of the video's Edition. Most recent will be at the top of the list.

3) Title of video.

4) FINRA column will display "i" icon while FINRA approval is pending. FINRA logo will display once approval is granted. Click FINRA logo to view PDF of FINRA approval letter.

5) Green check mark in Narration column indicates that video is able to have your voice recorded to replace our audio if you choose.

6) Clicking 'Preview' in Sample column opens a video window so you can watch the video and see if the content is something you wish to use for your video.

7) Clicking 'Available' in the Record column will begin the recording wizard where you will custom brand the video to you and your firm.

8) A play icon appears in this column if you have a completed video for a specific video. If it is blank, you have not recorded that specific video yet (or the video you just recorded is being processed.)

9) Once a video has been recorded, you will be able to easily post it to a YouTube account if you have one.

10) Once you post your video to YouTube, you can click the 'On YouTube' link to view it on YouTube's site.

11) Your completed video can be setup in an email campaign (currently utilizing Constant Contact) by choosing the 'Create' link and following the onscreen prompts.

12) Clicking the 'Post to Your Site' button will show you additional options on how to embed one or more videos on your website.

Recording Wizard Main Screen

The recording wizard opening screen offers instructions and your choice of recording methods..

1) If you do not want to record the video using your voice and would like to keep our audio, select 'Use Our Narration' option. You will be prompted to enter your unique details (headshot, logo, etc.) so the final video will be branded with your information. This is the fastest and easiest method.

2) If you'd like to have your voice featured in the video and want to use our proprietary phone system, select 'Record By Phone'. During the recording process, you will enter your phone number and our system will call you. Follow the instructions our automated system gives you to record your audio using your phone. You will repeat this procedure for each slide in the video. The phone number you enter must be a direct dial number. Try to record in a quiet area.

3) Pre-recording your audio clips on a computer yields the best results but also requires a higher level of technical proficiency on your part. You can click the blue 'Print the script' link to get the script you need to read for the audio tracks. Files must be saved in MP3 or WMA (Windows 7 voice recorder) format.

'Use Our Narration' Recording Method Details

 

After choosing 'Use Our Narration' from the recording wizard main screen, you will be presented with the screen to enter your unique details so the video will be custom branded to you and your company. Fill out your information and when finished hit the 'Next' button in the lower right.

 

After hitting the 'Next' button you will see the below screen informing you your recording process is complete and will processed within one business day. At this time you may go back to the main library screen using the link provided.

'Record By Phone' Recording Method Details

 

After choosing 'Record By Phone' from the recording wizard main screen, you will be presented with each slide screen. To begin recording for each slide, choose the 'Record By Phone' icon.

 

Next you will enter your phone number in the pop-up box and hit the 'Submit' button.

 

Next you will see the script for the slide you are about to record. Within several seconds your phone should ring (if it does not, hit 'Cancel' and select the 'Record By Phone' icon again.) Our automated system will direct you how to begin the recording the process and what to do when finished. Note the 'Target Length' listed. Our system allows for a 20% variance (faster or slower.)

 

After you submit your phone recording you will be returned to the slide screen. The gray bar on the left side will now turn red indicating the length of your recording in relation to the target length of 100%. If your recording exceeds +/- 20% variance, you will be asked to record it again when you hit the 'Next' button. Simply hit the 'Record By Phone' icon to try again. If the red bar is short, you read it too fast the first time so try to read slower next time. If your recording is within the limits then hitting the 'Next' button will take you to the next slide where you will repeat the process, starting with clicking the 'Record By Phone' icon.

 

After all slides have been recorded you will be presented with the screen to enter your unique details so the video will be custom branded to you and your company. Fill out your information and when finished hit the 'Next' button in the lower right.

 

After hitting the 'Next' button you will see the below screen informing you your recording process is complete and will processed within one business day. At this time you may go back to the main library screen using the link provided.

'Pre-record MP3(s) And Upload' Recording Method Details

 

After choosing 'Pre-record MP3(s) And Upload' from the recording wizard main screen, you will be presented with each slide screen. To upload your already recorded audio file (MP3 or WMA formats only), choose the 'Pre-record MP3(s) And Upload' icon.

 

Next you will navigate to and select the correct audio file for the slide you are on. After choosing your file, wait for the gray bar on the left to turn red indicating the length of your recording in relation to the target length of 100%. If your recording exceeds +/- 20% variance, you will be asked to supply a new file when you hit the 'Next' button. If the red bar is short, you read it too fast the first time so try to read slower next time. After recording a new file hit the 'Pre-record MP3(s) And Upload' icon to try again. If your recording is within the limits then hitting the 'Next' button will take you to the next slide where you will repeat the process, starting with clicking the 'Pre-record MP3(s) And Upload' icon.

 

After all slides have been uploaded you will be presented with the screen to enter your unique details so the video will be custom branded to you and your company. Fill out your information and when finished hit the 'Next' button in the lower right.

 

After hitting the 'Next' button you will see the below screen informing you your recording process is complete and will processed within one business day. At this time you may go back to the main library screen using the link provided.
