BAW - Editing Your Calendar/Events

Introduction

1) Events are displayed in two different areas on your website.

 

2) A calendar of events is available at the link Resources -> Events.

 

3) A list of upcoming events is available at the link Contact Us -> New Events.

 

4) The event editing tools are available at both these locations.

 

5) You can also access these tools at any time by clicking on the events icon.

 

Categories

1) To access a list of categories and add new categories, click the "Category" button.

 

2) You can edit any of the existing categories in the list, and add new categories in the "Add Title" field.

 

3) When you've made your changes, click on "Save".

 

4) A pop up will appear, saying that your save is successful – click on "OK" and your category changes will be live.

 

Adding an event

1) To add an event, click on "New".

 

2) You'll see different fields that you'll need to fill out. The ones with asterisks next to them are required fields.

 

3) Fill in these first few fields with your title, the location, and the category of your event – these are all required fields.

 

4) You can choose a status for your event by clicking on the drop down menu and choosing "Tentative", "Confirmed" or "Cancelled".

 

5) Click on the "Event Types" drop-down menu to select an event type – either an all-day event, or a meeting.

 

6) Choose the start and end date and time of your event. Here the end date should be the same or a later date than the start date.

 

7) The event end time should come later than the event start time. The dates and times are required fields.

 

8) Next, add a description to your event. If you haven't yet written a description, you can come back and add it later.

 

9) When you've completed the form for your new event, click on "Save".

 

10) When the page is loaded, your changes will have saved, and you will see the event in the calendar.

 

11) You'll also see the event in this list on the left hand side under the editing tools.

 

12) As an upcoming event, you'll see this event at Contact us -> New Events. Clicking on this event will show you more information about it.

 

Editing events

1) If you hover over the event in the calendar, you'll see more information about the event.

 

2) If you click on the event in the calendar, you'll be able to edit it.

 

3) You can also edit the event if you click on the event in the event list.

 

4) Once in the editor, edit the fields you wish to change.

 

Deleting events

1) In the list of events, check the box next to the event you want to delete.

 

2) Click on "Delete".

 

3) A pop up will appear, saying that the event you checked has been deleted.

 

4) Click on "OK", and you'll see it no longer appears in the event list, on your calendar, or in the new events list.
