Introduction to SEO

1) Search Engine Optimisation is the process of setting up your website so it's more visible on search engines like Google. The better your SEO, the better your visibility on search engines.

 

Accessing the SEO editor

1) To edit your SEO, click on the SEO button. This will open up a short form.

 

2) There are two boxes here, one says "META DESC", and that is the Meta Description of your website. The Meta Description is a summary of your website's content. If someone searches for a phrase, and that's included in your description, then search engines will display that description in their results.

 

3) The second box, "Keyword", is for your Meta Keywords. The keywords are tags that tell search engines what sort of topic your page is about. You want to make sure this is loaded with key words that tell search engines what your website is about, so that when individuals search for those terms, your website appears in their results.

 

4) Editing these is pretty simple, however, coming up with the content is the tricky part. Have a chat to us if you want to know more about writing a Meta Description or writing Meta Keywords for your SEO.

 

Editing the SEO fields

1) To edit your description just write in your text. You'll see this example is quite concise and contains a lot of buzz words.

 

2) To edit your keywords, again just type in your keywords.

 

3) Once you’re done, click "Save". A browser pop-up will appear, that says "Save completed", and then your SEO is set up.

 

Google Analytics

1) You might also be interested to set up your website so that you can check out the analytics. You'll need to set up a Google Analytics account.

 

2) During the process of setting this up, you'll be provided with a code which you can paste into the "Analytics" box.
